Self-adhesion is one-sided — ensure the cling side faces inward during wrapping. Industrial compostable only; home composting conditions do not reliably degrade 20μm PBAT film within 12 months.

Frequently asked questions
How does the self-adhesion compare to LLDPE stretch wrap?
Our PBAT-based film achieves approximately 90% of LLDPE cling force without any tackifier additives. The self-adhesion is sufficient for standard pallet stabilization — film sticks to itself securely during wrapping. In head-to-head warehouse testing, pallets wrapped with ESINLE film showed no load shift after standard transport simulation, matching LLDPE performance for typical mixed-load pallets up to 800 kg.
What happens if the film gets wet during transport?
PBAT is slightly more hydrophilic than LLDPE, so the film may absorb a small amount of surface moisture in very humid or wet conditions. However, this does not significantly affect load containment — water absorption is < 2% by weight after 24 hours at 90% RH, and cling force is retained. For shipments requiring moisture protection, we recommend our PLA+PBAT industrial film (ES-SW-04) which has lower moisture sensitivity.
Can the used film be composted with any organic residue on it?
Yes. EN 13432 certification covers the film including incidental organic residues (food particles, soil, plant matter) that are commonly present on pallet wrap after use. The film + residue can be deposited directly into industrial organics collection. For heavy contamination, this actually accelerates composting by providing nitrogen to balance the carbon-rich PLA+PBAT polymer.
