Compostability, quality, and social-compliance certifications from independent bodies — DIN CERTCO, BPI, TÜV Austria, ABA, SGS — certificates and test reports ship with every order and can be verified directly against each issuer's public database

EN 13432 badge

EN 13432

DIN CERTCO / TÜV Austria

The EU benchmark for industrially compostable packaging — disintegration within 12 weeks, ≥90% biodegradation within 6 months, plus ecotoxicity and heavy-metal limits. Required for the EU compostable claim under PPWR.

Standard details & coverage

EN 13432 requires: ≥ 90 % disintegration within 12 weeks under industrial composting conditions (58 °C, controlled humidity and aeration); ≥ 90 % biodegradation (CO₂ conversion) within 6 months; compliance with heavy-metal limits; no adverse effect on compost quality (plant germination test on two species); no ecotoxicity in the final compost. Reference standard for compostable packaging across the EU, referenced by PPWR Article 25.

Covered products: All Esinle standard film and bag products. Starch-based formulations certified through DIN CERTCO; PLA/PBAT formulations through TÜV Austria. Confirm your specific SKU at inquiry.

EU INDUSTRIAL COMPOST
ASTM D6400 · BPI badge

ASTM D6400 · BPI

Biodegradable Products Institute

North America's leading compostability mark. BPI certification against ASTM D6400 is what US municipal composters and retailers check — including field-testing requirements adopted in California.

Standard details & coverage

ASTM D6400 is the US counterpart to EN 13432: ≥ 90 % disintegration within 12 weeks in a municipal or industrial composting facility; ≥ 90 % biodegradation within 180 days; no persistent toxic residues; heavy-metal limits similar to EN 13432. BPI certification is the de facto requirement for "compostable" claims in the United States and Canada.

Covered products: Most Esinle film and bag SKUs. Confirm your specific format at inquiry — BPI may not cover every variant.

OK Compost INDUSTRIAL badge

OK Compost INDUSTRIAL

TÜV Austria

TÜV Austria mark confirming conformity with EN 13432 for industrial composting facilities — widely recognised by European waste processors and importers.

Standard details & coverage

Functionally equivalent to DIN CERTCO's industrial compostability certification — confirms disintegration, biodegradation, chemical safety, and compost quality per EN 13432. Some EU buyers specifically request the TÜV Austria mark over DIN CERTCO; both are equally valid.

Covered products: Available for all film and bag SKUs that carry EN 13432 certification.

EU INDUSTRIAL COMPOST
OK Compost HOME badge

OK Compost HOME

TÜV Austria

The stricter test: full biodegradation at ambient backyard temperatures (~28°C) within 12 months. Lets your product carry a home-compostable claim — a real differentiator at retail.

Standard details & coverage

OK Compost HOME (NFT 51-800 / EN 17427) is the most demanding compostability certification — degradation at ambient temperature (20–30 °C) in a backyard compost pile: ≥ 90 % disintegration and biodegradation within 12 months, plus EN 13432 ecotoxicity and heavy-metal limits. Only select thin-gauge films and bags achieve this standard.

Covered products: Select thin-gauge bag SKUs. Home compostable variants must be specified at inquiry stage.

AS 5810 badge

AS 5810

Australasian Bioplastics Assoc.

Australian standard for home compostability, including a worm-toxicity test unique to AS 5810. Required for compostable claims in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Standard details & coverage

AS 5810 certifies home compostability for the Australian and New Zealand markets: biodegradation at ambient temperature plus a worm-toxicity (vermiculture) test not found in EN 13432 or ASTM D6400. Certified products may carry the ABA home compostable logo.

Covered products: Select thin-gauge bag SKUs — aligned with the OK Compost HOME range.

Quality management system audited by SGS — process control, material traceability from resin lot to finished pallet, and documented four-stage inspection (IQC → IPQC → FQC → OQC).

Standard details & coverage

Factory-level certification covering process control, raw-material traceability, document control, corrective action, and continuous improvement. Every production batch is traceable to its resin lot; QA data is retained per batch; non-conformance is systematically documented and resolved.

Covered products: Factory-wide — covers all production lines.
