Real outcomes from real customers

Every packaging challenge is different — here are three examples of how we solved specific problems for B2B customers

01
EU Regulatory Compliance

German pet supplies importer prepares for PPWR

Challenge

A mid-sized German pet supplies distributor, importing 15–20 containers of conventional PE dog waste bags annually, needed to transition their entire product line to EN 13432-certified compostable bags before the August 2026 PPWR enforcement deadline. Their existing supplier — a general PE converter — could not provide certified compostable alternatives. They had 8 months to source, test, and switch production without disrupting distribution to 400+ retail locations across Germany and Austria.

Solution

Esinle produced pre-production samples within 7 working days, matching existing bag dimensions, thickness, and print registration. After the customer's in-house tensile and seal-integrity testing confirmed equivalence to their PE bags, we shipped a trial container within 30 days of first contact. The full transition — 4 SKUs, 2 print designs, 3 thickness variants — was completed across 4 production runs over 5 months.

Result

All 4 SKUs achieved EN 13432 certification with full compliance-pack documentation. The customer launched their "Certified Compostable" rebrand 3 months ahead of the PPWR deadline, gaining a first-mover advantage in the DACH pet supplies market. They have since expanded their order to 7 SKUs and added BPI certification for a planned North American launch.

Outcome: PPWR-ready 3 months early · 4 → 7 SKUs · Now expanding to North America

02
Supply Chain Consolidation

UK packaging distributor consolidates 3 suppliers into one

Challenge

A UK-based packaging distributor was sourcing compostable shopping bags from one supplier, cling film from a second, and stretch wrap from a third — three separate MOQs, three sets of shipping documentation, three certification files, and inconsistent lead times that made consolidated shipments impossible. The administrative overhead was consuming their margin.

Solution

Esinle proposed a consolidated programme: shopping bags, cling film, and stretch wrap produced under one roof with unified certification documentation, a single compliance pack per shipment, and coordinated production scheduling so all three lines could ship in one container. A trial order of one mixed 20-foot container was produced and shipped within 35 days.

Result

The distributor reduced their supplier count from 3 to 1, cut per-container landed cost by an estimated 12% through consolidated shipping, and now manages a single compliance file instead of three. They have since added a fourth product line (agricultural mulch film). Operations time spent on supplier management dropped by roughly two-thirds.

Outcome: 3 → 1 supplier · ~12% landed cost reduction · 3 → 4 product lines · Admin time reduced ~2/3

03
Custom Formulation

Australian brand achieves 65% bio-based content for marketing claim

Challenge

An Australian eco-brand wanted to market their compostable produce bags as "65% plant-based" — a claim requiring verifiable bio-based carbon content per ASTM D6866. Their existing supplier's standard PLA/PBAT blend measured below 50% bio-based content (PBAT is fossil-derived), making the claim impossible with the off-the-shelf formulation.

Solution

Our GreenEco resin team reformulated: increased the PLA-to-PBAT ratio, incorporated a starch-based masterbatch to boost bio-based content, and adjusted processing parameters to maintain film strength at the new ratio. Three formulation iterations were produced as pre-production samples over 4 weeks. The final formulation was independently tested per ASTM D6866 and certified at 67% bio-based carbon content.

Result

The brand launched "67% Plant-Based Compostable Produce Bags" — a verifiable, lab-tested claim competitors could not match with off-the-shelf compounds. The product line is now in its third reorder year, and the customer has requested a 75% bio-based variant for their next SKU, currently in development.

Outcome: 67% bio-based (ASTM D6866 certified) · 3rd reorder year · 75% variant in development
