01
What it is

ES-PW-02 is our compostable disposable apron — specified for food processors, central kitchens, hotels, and hospitality operations that need single-use body protection with food-contact compliance, but want to stop sending PE or PP aprons to landfill after every shift..

02
Key differentiator

The differentiator is the certification stack. 100% PLA spunbond nonwoven at 50 gsm delivers a soft, fabric-like drape, and because the entire construction is a single polymer, the whole apron certifies as one unit — EN 13432 industrial compostability plus FDA food-contact compli

Where it fits in your range

Where it sits in our range. ES-PW-02 is the flagship of the Protective Wear line for food and hospitality — positioned for operations where hygiene documentation matters as much as the garment.

When NOT to specify

When not to specify it. PLA nonwoven is water-resistant but not fully waterproof — prolonged contact with pooled liquids will soak through.

Not right for everyone

When not to specify it. PLA nonwoven is water-resistant but not fully waterproof — prolonged contact with pooled liquids will soak through. For butchering, fish processing, or other high-liquid environments, specify the heavier 60 gsm variant or pair

Applications

Food processing and central kitchens

single-shift hygienic aprons with FDA food-contact compliance — composted with organic waste instead of joining PE apron mountains in landfill

Hotel and restaurant F&B operations

fabric-hand disposable aprons for kitchen and service staff — brand-printable chest panel for a polished, uniformed look

Catering and event hospitality

one-use aprons that match a zero-waste event ethos — deploy 200 aprons for a gala dinner, compost 200 aprons the same night

Retail and food-service distributors

white-label OEM program — your brand, our PLA nonwoven, full EN 13432 + FDA documentation pack included for your customers' compliance files

Limitations & Storage

Water-resistant but not waterproof — prolonged contact with pooled liquids will penetrate the nonwoven structure; specify 60 gsm for high-liquid environments. Not designed for multi-shift reuse — PLA nonwoven is specified for single-shift disposal. Store in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight; shelf life is 12 months from date of manufacture.

Frequently asked questions

Is it food-safe?

Yes — the PLA spunbond nonwoven is FDA food-contact compliant and suitable for direct food-handling environments. The apron is manufactured in a food-grade certified workshop. For HACCP documentation, we provide the FDA compliance statement and EN 13432 certificate with every order.

Is it waterproof like a plastic apron?

PLA nonwoven is water-resistant — it repels light spills and splash — but not fully waterproof. For high-liquid environments (fish processing, butchering), specify the heavier 60 gsm variant or pair with a film apron underneath. Both options remain fully compostable.

How do staff dispose of it?

Into organic waste — the entire apron is certified industrial compostable (EN 13432). No separation of straps or ties required: every component is PLA. Facilities with organic-waste collection simply add the used apron to the green stream alongside food scraps.
