Limitations & Storage

Anti-fog performance is optimized for refrigerated display temperatures (2–8°C). Performance may vary at sustained high ambient temperatures above 30°C or in very high-humidity environments above 85% RH where condensation dynamics differ. Not suitable for applications requiring simultaneous anti-fog and anti-static properties — these require conflicting surface energy characteristics. Industrial compostable only — not home compost certified.

Frequently asked questions

Does the anti-fog treatment wash off or degrade over time?

No. Our anti-fog treatment is integrated into the polymer matrix during the blown film extrusion process — it is not a topical coating applied after manufacturing. The hydrophilic property is inherent to the film structure and persists for the entire shelf life of the bag. Even after washing with cool water, the anti-fog performance remains fully intact.

Is the anti-fog agent itself certified compostable?

Yes — this is a key differentiator from conventional anti-fog bags. Traditional anti-fog agents use petrochemical-based surfactants that do not biodegrade and can leave persistent chemical residues in compost. Our proprietary treatment is based on modified polylactic acid oligomers that are fully biodegradable under EN 13432 testing. The entire finished bag — film, anti-fog treatment, and printing inks — is certified compostable as a complete product unit.

Does the anti-fog treatment affect mechanical properties or seal strength?

No. Independent mechanical testing confirms the anti-fog treatment has no measurable effect on tensile strength at break, elongation at break, tear resistance, or heat seal integrity. Mechanical properties are identical to our standard non-anti-fog film of equivalent gauge and formulation.
