Limitations & Storage

Slide cutter mechanism is designed for the included roll width — do not use with rolls wider than 30cm as the track will not align. Not suitable for microwave or oven use. For frozen food wrapping, allow film to reach room temperature before stretching to prevent brittle failure at freezer temperatures (PBAT remains flexible to -30°C, but PLA content may stiffen below 5°C).

How durable is the slide cutter compared to serrated blade boxes?

The slide cutter mechanism is rated for 2,000+ cut cycles — approximately 10× the number of cuts required for a 200m roll. In accelerated life testing, the mechanism shows no measurable degradation through 2,000 cycles. The aluminum track and spring-loaded blades are designed as a premium, durable alternative to disposable serrated blades.

Can I adjust the PLA/PBAT ratio for my specific application?

Yes. Our standard 70:30 ratio is optimized for general food service use. For applications requiring maximum elasticity (wrapping irregular shapes), we can increase the PBAT fraction to 50%. For applications requiring maximum clarity and stiffness (display wraps), we can increase PLA to 85%. Custom formulations require 500 kg minimum order and 7–10 days for compounding.

Is the slide cutter mechanism itself recyclable or compostable?

The slide cutter mechanism is designed to be removed from the cardboard box (which is recyclable/compostable). The aluminum track and steel blades are fully recyclable in metal streams. We are developing a bio-based polymer track system for full compostability — expected release Q4 2026.
