The differentiator is economics at scale. At 12 μm standard gauge with EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 (BPI) dual certification, this is the lowest cost-per-bag entry point in our range that still covers both EU and US composting standards.

Limitations & Storage
The CaCO3-filled formulation has slightly higher opacity than pure PBAT/PLA blends, which may affect the vibrancy of custom printing on darker Pantone colors. For designs requiring maximum color pop, request our pre-production print proof for evaluation.

Frequently asked questions
Is BPI certification recognized outside of North America?
BPI/ASTM D6400 is primarily recognized in the US and Canada. For European markets, the ES-SB-03 also carries EN 13432 certification. For Oceania, AS 4736 applies. All three certifications are maintained for this SKU.
Does the calcium carbonate content affect compost quality?
No. Calcium carbonate is a naturally occurring mineral that breaks down into calcium ions and carbonate — both benign soil components. Independent ecotoxicity testing (OECD 208) confirms no adverse effect on plant germination or earthworm survival.
How does SB 270 compliance work for compostable bags?
California's SB 270 exempts bags that are certified compostable by BPI and labeled accordingly. The ES-SB-03 meets both criteria. We provide a compliance documentation package with every shipment to CA addresses.
